The Sorry Tale of Steve's BBQ
The evening started promisingly when Steve arrived with the barbeque already constructed, saving two hours of assembly time that was required last time. He filled the barbeque with charcoal:
Unfortunately he failed to bring any fire lighters so some newspaper was hastily employed in a desperate attempt to light the charcoal:
Next he raided the host's winter wood store, but this too failed to work.
Therefore he soaked the wood and charcoal in PETROL in a desperate attempt to get the barbeque alight. With young children present this was a highly foolish and iresponsible step.
This had a dramatic effect and the barbeque burst in flames, sending woman and children
fleeing in terror.
Eventually the flames died down and the fire became more manageable:
So then Steve attempted to fasten the tray onto the barbeque on which to place the food.
Unfortunately he failed to realise that fire was hot.
Once the tray was in place the cooking commenced:
However at times the smoke was a problem:
And the "chef" was obviously having difficulties and did not enspire confidence:
Meanwhile, everyone was getting very hungry since they had been waiting for
several hours for their food.
Some even attempted to turn to alcohol to drown their sorrows:::
However the cooking was not exactly going according to plan.
Several burgers ended up actually IN the fire!
Some sausages were . . . let's say "slightly over-cooked"
And rashes of bacon ended up on the ground:
Meanwhile the chief attempted to flee the scene with a lame excuse of "giving some keys to his sister"
Luckily he returned and the guests sampled the fare:
However some preferred tomato sauce on bread rather than Steve's cooking:
In a pathetic attempt to mask his failings in the culinary department, Steve attempted to ensure everyone present forgot the farcical events of the evening *
* Picture posed by models. At not point did any minors consume alcohol during the evening.
Eveyone has now recovered from the after effects of the evening and is looking forward to seeing how Steve improves his barbeque skills in future.
