Bladon Junior Church staged the musical Jesus Christ Superstar from 22th to 26th October 2002. Jesus Christ Superstar, with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice, first exploded onto the stage in 1971 and has since become a musical legend. It is packed with hit songs including I Don't know How to Love Him, Could We Start Again Please and of course Superstar. Over thirty adults and children took part in this production which was based on the exciting new Broadway revival which went on tour around the UK last year.

Cast
The role of Jesus was played by Tom Saunders, whose previous credits include Toad in Toad of Toad Hall and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. Mary is played by Karen Hodge who took the female lead Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance.
With Andrew Lloyd Weber's stunning and powerful music and such a strong principal line up, this was definitely a show not to be missed! We have received many letters and phone calls from members of the audience who enjoyed the show.  Some told how they were moved to tears by the dramatic portrayal of the crucifiction
