The church was spectacularly decorated with two Christmas trees and thousands of lights for our popular village Candlit Concert which included musical numbers from Shrek, Sweeny Todd and Spamalot in addition to well known Christmas songs.
Our Christmas Family Service was led by the children of the Junior Church. It included a comedy nativity play based on the popular TV comedy Hi-De Hi which was especially written for the Junior Church by our resident comedian Steve Moss.
However the highlight of the concert, certainly for the children, was the entrance of Santa Claus, who managed to get stuck in a chimney in a hilarious version of the popular song. This year's special effects included a heavy fall of snow from the roof of the church and loads of bubbles! After the concert there was a delicious buffet for all the audience.
Over the years we've sung in sub-zero temperatures, wind, fog and even snow. However we've always been luckily that it hasn't rained - and this year was no exception with the temperature at an almost balmy 12 degrees! Thank you to everyone who donated so generously.
We also went carol singing around the village of Deddington to raise money for Blue Skye Thinking, a charity funding research into childhood brain tumours.
